            Work programming is four annual (Program) and annual (Work Plan) and is one of the basic tasks of Federal Office of Statistics in addition to the main task which is data production and dissemination for Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Institute determines by the Programes statistical methodologies and standards for the implementation of the statistical programs that are harmonized with B&H statistical standards and international standards, most of all UN/ECE and Eurostat. Relationship of Federal Office of Statistics with other authorized producers of statistics in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is based on mutual cooperation.

For each domain of statistics a detail breakdown is prepared in how to respond to the requirements, by which activities, deadlines and responsible institutions. The annual plans enclose also the costs for implementation of the program. The Program is enacted by the National Assembly of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina upon the proposal of the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period of four years. The Work Plan is passed by the Government upon the proposal of the Federal Office of Statistics and enacted for every calendar year.

The draft Program and Work Plan are prepared by the Federal Office of Statistics in cooperation with the authorized bodies and organizations and taking into account needs and capacities for production of statistics.

Federal Office of Statistics yearly reports to the Government of the Federation of B&H on the implementation of the work Plan. The Report on the implementation of the Work Plan contains information about the results of statistical activities and problems regarding implementation of the Work Plan.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

International co-operation of the Agency for statistics of B&H, with UN/ECE and Eurostat, to a great extent influences the transformation of statistics in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular in obligatory use of international and EU statistical standards, methodologies, classifications and nomenclatures regulated by the Agency pursuant to international recommendations and EU Statistical requirement  Compendium.

Federal Office of Statistics takes active part in the preparation of the statistical standards, methodologies, classifications and nomenclatures as well as in assistance programmes to statistics B&H, coordinated by the Agency for statistics of B&H.
