GENERAL DATA

 

When the General Agreement on Peace came into effect Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue existence: under official name “Bosnia and Herzegovina”, according to international law as a state, with internal structure in connection with Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and with existent international recognize borders. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a democracy state and divided on two entities: Federation of B&H and Republica Srpska and District Brčko.

Capital city is Sarajevo.

Official languages are: bosnian, croatian and serbian

Official currency: Convertible mark (KM) (1KM = 0,51129 EUR)

 

GEOGRAPHICAL DATA

 

According to geographical location Bosnia and Herzegovina borders on two big climatic zone on the west side of the Balcan. Bosnia and Herzegovina cover totally 51.209,2 km2  of which on lend related 51.197 km2 and coastal sea 12,2 km2 . Clime is majority continental and mediterranean on south.

The highest mountain peak is Maglić with 2386 metres hheight above sea level and there is on the territory of Fočaa municipality.

The longest river is Drina – 346 km, and the bigest lake is Buško with surface area 55,8 km2  , height above sea level is 716,6 m and the maximum depth is 17,3 m.
